When we add a stamp to a .pdf it causes the final output of the file to grow in size by up to 1000%. What could be causing this?

Hi,

My initial thoughts is to check the size of the stamp itself, compared to the PDF file you are applying the stamp to, preferably in KB or MB rather than in percentage.

Is the PDF stamp one of the stamps that comes with PDF reDirect Pro, or are you using a customized stamp? If customized, please check the size of the stamp. It should be located in the stamp folder here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\PDF reDirect\Stamps

(Substitute your own login name where it says "USERNAME")

Let me know what you find out, and we'll take it from there!

Michel

Hi Michel_17,
The stamp we are using is the "Draft-Text.txt" stamp included in the list of stamps pulled from the drop down menu.

Thank you. And yes, this particular stamp should add next to no increase in file size: maybe a handful of bytes.

I applied that stamp to a couple of my PDF files, and I was unable to duplicate the problem. For example, one file went from 203KB to 205KB, and the other from 1.0KB to 2.2KB. If you are able to, please send me a copy of the PDF, preferably both, the "before" and "after" so I can troubleshoot the problem.

You can send it to my e-mail at exp {at} exp-systems {dot} com.

Thanks!
