I have just successfully re-registered PDF reDirect Pro on 6 PC's after a server upgrade and new user names being applied.
They all work fine; however one one PC, I get the message "An error occurred: You need to have PDF reDirect Professional activated to use this tool.
Error Number = 0
DLL Error Number = 1906"

It does seem to correctly generate and email the PDF however.

PDF reDirect Pro is registered on this PC. It is running Windows 8 Pro (as are the other PCs).

Any suggestion on how to remove this error message?

Thanks

Hi,

Here are a couple of questions which will help me resolve the problem:

1. Are the user accounts on the Server, or on their individual PC?

2. for the user who is having the problem, is it possible that his machine was registered using an IT/admin account rather than using his/her account?

3. Do you register each user individually, or do you have a high volume (20+) license data file (which helps automate the registration process)?

Hopefully we can help resolve the issue for you.

Cheers!

Hi
I have encountered the same problem and have traced it to the line
TempBool = .Batch_Printer_Save_Settings(MyBatchPrinter)
in Convert2PdfAndEmail
The line sets TempBool to false which triggers the error message.

I believe this is caused when a new user account is used on the PC; there seems to be some confusion as to which location the files are in that its trying to update.

Is there any way to tell which file it was attempting to write to?

Thanks for the hint. Let me take a look at the code and I will get back to you.

Cheers!

Hi Michel
I've just encountered the same problem at the same customer, on a different PC.
I believe that the user accounts are on the Windows Server (Active Directory)
The PC is now being used by a different user, so I believe that this may be a permissions issue.
Please can you advise how I can resolve the issue?
(I don't see any response from you since I posted this 2 years ago).

By the way, did you know that the Forum search doesn't seem to work?
I searched for 1906 (which I knew was in my post) but it wasn't found.

Thanks, David

Hi Michel
Are you still responding to questions on the Forum?
I haven't seen a reply to my question from 5th June.

Hi Michel

I'd really appreciate a response and some help with this, as it's preventing a registered user from using the software.

Regards, David

Just tried changing the Preferences for Printer: BatchPDF

It gave this message:
"Sorry an Error occurred in SaveBatchSettings.

1. 00075 - Path/File access error
2. OK"

Can you advise?

Hi David,

Sorry for the late response. I get so few postings on the forum that I hardly monitor it anymore.

In regards to the original 1906 error, I think I can address this. I will send you an e-mail to follow up.

In regards to the path error, yes, I believe there is a fix for that as well. I will research in the customer support database, and will get back to you as well.

Best,

Michel
