I configure all my email preferences. (SMTP, Pop server, email address, username, password)

After, I add a PDF Email and configure filename header, email TO and subject.

When I print a file with my new PDF Email, I receive the email, but without the pdf file.

What is my error ?

Hi,

That is odd. Try saving the file to a regular folder to make sure the conversion works OK, then try e-mailing again. Hopefully that will work better for you.

To be clear, the PDF that should be sent should be the one(s) listed in the Merge List.

   I hope that helps.

   Best regards,

What I want to ...
When I receive a fax with Microsoft Fax, it automatically prints on my printer Batch "Email PDF" and sends it to an email address

Hi,

Yes, you are right: it should work. I suggest you record an error log, and send it to me for analysis
so that I can see where the error is occurring, and hopefully why. This is how it is done:
  1. Start PDF reDirect (manually, or through the "Print" command)
  2. Click on the green "Preferences" button
  3. Select "Generate Log Files"
  4. Click "OK" to save your settings
  5. Click on "Exit" to quit out of PDFreDirect
  6. Try to create a new PDF file. ie - receive a fax, and have it "Print" through your batch printer.
  7. Click on the green "Preferences" button
  8. Click on the "View Log File" button
  9. Copy-and-paste the log, and post it here in the forum, or send it to me to my e-mail address at exp (at) exp-systems (dot) com.
  10. You can turn the error logging back OFF.

Hopefully I can make some sense of what is going on by looking at the log.

I have this same need and issue.  I am using Microsoft Fax and have setup a batch printer to email the PDF.  It works fine when I manually print a received fax from the inbox, but it cannot automatically send fax after a fax is received by the PC.  Was there a resolution to this issue or should I send in a log file?   I am using WinXP, SP2.  Thanks.

Hi,

Does Microsoft Fax have an option to "but it cannot automatically send fax after a fax is received by the PC.". By that, can you set Microsoft Fax to print to the batch printer as soon as it is received?

I did a quick search on the internet, and it sounds like there is such an option. Did you see the following post on the Internet [here] where someone reported having the same problem, but printing to a regular printer.

A log can help, but only if MS Fax did send the "print" command, and the batch printer failed to work properly. So yes, if you think that is what is going on, do send me the log. However, using the following instructions:

  1. Start PDF reDirect (manually, or through the "Print" command)
  2. Click on the green "Preferences" button
  3. Select "Generate Log Files"
  4. Click "OK" to save your settings
  5. Click on "Exit" to quit out of PDFreDirect
  6. Try to create a new PDF file. ie - Receive a fax, and wait until MS Fax tried to print through your batch printer automatically. There should be a window with a progress bar appear automatically. If it fails, a red X will be posted in the window.
  7. Click on the green "Preferences" button
  8. Click on the "View Log File" button
  9. Copy-and-paste the log, and post it here in the forum, or send it to me to my e-mail address at exp (at) exp-systems (dot) com.
  10. You can turn the error logging back OFF.
Hopefully I can figure out what is wrong with the log.

   Cheers!
