Hello There,

I can convert a publisher file to .pdf no problem and upload it to my school's server using FTP, but when I try to see the page via the internet I get a "file is damaged and could not be repaired" error message.  Please help!

Thanks,

SML

Hi there "SML",

I have not experienced that problem before. In my tests, the PDF files appear properly and can be viewed properly.

Have you tried saving the PDF file to a local (C:) drive to see if that opens OK, and then upload it afterwards. At least we'll know if the PDF created is bad rather than the FTP upload. I am asking because Publisher can be a little "finicky" and sometimes requires a change to the Font settings.

Also, try creating a simpler PDF (for example using MS Word) and see if that uploads better.

Let me know how you make out and we'll take it from there.

I figured out the problem.  I was getting a "file has been damaged and could not be repaired" message along with others.  Turns out, in order to upload a .pdf properly it must be done using binary in ftp.  Who knew?!  Thanks.

Great! I'm glad to hear that it is working OK now. Thanks for letting me know.
