Can someone tell me if this is fully compatible with acrobat reader/writer 8.1.1 ?

Yes it is. (Thank you for the easy question.)  The PDF format produced with PDF reDirect is compatible with PDF Reader v4 except for some of the newer features like 128 bit encryption (PDF reDirect Pro) which requires PDF Reader v5 or higher.
