You can set it manually, or maybe a removal or re-install of your PDF Reader program.    For example, if you install Adobe's PDF Reader, and then install an additional PDF Reader, and then remove it, the association will be deleted, and will not reset to the original.    To set it, is done via Windows Explorer.
